History:

I graduated from Preble High School, Green Bay, WI., In 1971, and have been in the residential construction industry ever since. I am a licensed Real Estate Broker in Wisconsin and a graduate of the builders institute (GBI), I’m certified by the state of Wisconsin and have a building contractors license. I also served in the United States Marine Reserves from 10/71 to 10/77. I have been married to my lovely wife Marsha since June 9, 1973. We have 2 sons, Jason and Adam; 1 daughter, Katie; 2 grandsons, Daniel and Lethan; and 8 granddaughters, Kalyn, Rachael, Allyson, Megan, Kylie, Kelsie, Ava, and Julia.

Background:

I started working in construction the summer of 1971 for a remodeling contractor from the Green Bay area. We did remodeling, additions, garages and set prefabricated homes. Also, I helped with concrete flat work on some of these projects, acquired some hands on experience finishing the heating and electrical in the prefabricated homes besides the normal carpentry work, i.e. framing, finishing, roofing siding.

I enlisted into the Marine Corps Reserves, so in October of 1971 off I went to fulfill my 6-year obligation, 6 months active and 5 ½ years of reserve duty. I was a cook while on active duty and for about 3 years in the reserves. The final 2+ years in the reserves I was head of the construction crew, we did several charity type projects in Brown and some surrounding counties, such as an addition on the original building at the wildlife sanctuary and the octagon shaped buildings in parks around Green Bay, just to mention a few.

After active duty in the Marines in April of '72, I went back to work for the remodeling contractor until the spring of '73 when I went to work for a prominent framing contractor. We framed about 60 homes a year, also installed the roofing, siding and when called upon some of the finish carpentry. In the summer of 1977 I went into a partnership with 3 gentlemen, we framed, roofed, and sided about 40 homes a year, and did some finish carpentry. The partnership lasted until the fall of 1982, when Gajeski Construction was established.

Gajeski Construction started out doing framing, roofing, siding, and finish carpentry, on everything from single-family homes to multi unit condos. I also did some remodeling, additions and built several homes as a general contractor. As time went on and things became more specialized and competitive, I dropped the roofing and siding and concentrated on framing. I normally had 2 framing crews, my brother Mark ran one and I ran one, although I liked the 2 crew set up, it was necessary for me to add a third crew due to demand and a desire to keep the contractors I was framing for happy. I didn't frame for just anyone, but only the best general contractors this area had to offer. Fortunately I have always had plenty of work and did not, nor would I, lower myself to work for sub-standard contractors, just to have work. Between the years of 1973 to 1995, I have worked on, or been directly responsible for over 1200 homes. On January 1 of 1996 I sold the framing part of my business to my brother Mark (Mark Gajeski Construction, Inc.), so I could put all efforts into being a homebuilder / General Contractor.

Building the Future:

Since the inception of GAJESKI CONSTRUCTION, my goal has always been to put out a quality product and follow up with good service, from a framing contractor to a general contractor. I have learned many things from past employers and general contractors I have worked for and I am still learning new things today. With the hands on experience I have gained over the years, I as a homebuilder (general contractor) know what to look for in subcontractors and their work on the job site. This can only assure that you get the type of quality you deserve, and pay for, in a new home. Weather your down sizing, need a starter home or your family is growing and you need a larger home, ranch, 2 story of any style rest assured Gajeski Construction, is up, for the task.
